StubHub, Sprint engage sport fans with favorite teams via mobile partnership

Via the partnership, Sprint device users can by tickets to college and football games via their handsets throughout the 2011 and 2012 season. Users can buy tickets to games via links on the app’s Team Schedule pages and Game Center, Pro and College home screens.

StubHub is a ticket marketplace, enabling fans to buy and sell tickets to tens of thousands of sports, concert, theater and other live entertainment events.

Mobile tickets
Consumers can click directly through to StubHub from within the Sprint Football Live app to buy tickets.

Sprint Football Live is preloaded on most Sprint devices, and is also available for download from Google’s Android Market.

Consumers can use the app to follow their favorite teams, watch live telecasts of college games from ESPN Mobile TV and Notre Dame on NBC Mobile.

Additionally, users can search pro and college real-time stats and scores, breaking news and rumors, blogs from SB Nation, expert insight, analysis from top personalities, fantasy team management and customizable content for specific players and teams.

Mobile teamwork
The partnership with Sprint Football Live is another example of how StubHub is advancing in the mobile space.

The company already has apps for Android, Windows Phone, iPhone and iPod touch devices.

Most recently, StubHub partnered with Major League Baseball team San Francisco Giants to drive sports fans to the stadium with its mobile ticketing service.

The partnership claims to mark the first deal between an organization and StubHub to offer mobile ticketing. Consumers can show a StubHub bar code on their handsets to be granted entry to the games (see story).
