San Francisco pushes merchant sales via mobile incentive program

The application offers Bay Area residents discounts to local restaurants and shopping destinations. The application is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.

“The Shop SF, Get More mobile application showcases San Francisco’s diverse neighborhoods and merchants, and provides an easy way for residents and visitors to discover great deals and new experiences,” said Steven Echtman, CEO of HearPlanet, San Francisco.

“Merchants can easily customize their details and deals, highlighting offers and discounts available to shoppers,” he said. “This increases their exposure to customers who might shop elsewhere, raising sales and driving revenues especially during the holiday season.”

HearPlanet is a mobile audio directory that created the Shop SF, Get More iPhone application, which lets users access merchant discounts by category and location.

Users can browse restaurants, famous attractions and hotels.

Customers can search retailers by name or view which is closest to them. They can also browse current offers.

Additionally, Mobile Spinach, a San Francisco-based mobile social marketing service will communicate exclusive discounts and offers via the Shop SF Get More program using SMS.

Consumers can opt-in by texting the keyword SHOPSF to the short code 313131.

“San Francisco’s marketing and promotions drive traffic to the app and local deals, and all Shop SF merchant listings and deals are available to over 600,000 HearPlanet iPhone and Android users as well,” Mr. Echtman said.
