Republic aims for convenience, increased sales via mobile site

Consumers can access the company’s wide range of brands such as G-Star, Deisel and Levi’s. Republic tapped Digby to power its mobile site.

“Republic’s key strategy is to provide their valuable customers with access to Republic products anytime, anywhere from the convenience of their smartphones,” said Dan Lowden, vice president of marketing at Digby, Austin, TX.

“Republic’s mobile-optimized Web site is sleek, easy to use and designed to allow consumers to search, browse and buy products whether they are at home, on the go, or in a Republic store,” he said.

“The mobile-optimized site empowers customers with additional product knowledge through rich product images and descriptions, special offers, ratings and reviews and social sharing.”

Republic is a British multibranded retailer with 115 stores in Britain and Ireland.

Digby mobilizes retailers by helping them take a strategic approach to mobile commerce and in-store mobile engagement.

Mobile shopping
Consumers can access the mobile site by entering http://www.republic.co.uk on their mobile browser.

Once on the site, consumers can shop by categories such as women’s and men’s and browse large product images to get a sense of the items that they wish to buy.

Additionally, consumers can browse current offers on the mobile site.

“By enabling a mobile-optimized Web site, Republic has the opportunity to develop more personalized relationships with their valuable customers through enhanced shopper engagement, driving customer loyalty, awareness and sales,” Mr. Lowden said.

“There are 74 million consumers already shopping via their mobile devices and Republic’s mobile-optimized site meets the consumer need for anytime, anywhere access to their favorite Republic products,” he said.

Site features
Via the mobile site, consumers can read detailed item descriptions, as well as browse ratings and reviews from fellow shoppers.

Customers can also share their favorite looks via Facebook, Twitter and email.

The mobile site features a “find in-store” feature that lets consumers find a product at their nearest location.

There is also a size guide that lets them find clothes in their size.

“Since 2006, Digby has enabled mobile-optimized sites and rich applications for many top retail brands,” Mr. Lowden said. “We want to ensure that Republic’s mobile channel is a long-term, strategic success that drives customer engagement, brand awareness and sales across all channels.”
