Crocs relies on mobile coupons to drive salesBy
Crocs is offering coupons within Yowza’s iPhone application to encourage sales via discounted offers.
Crocs is just one of the new retailers that partnered with Yowza. The application is available on the iPhone, iPod touch, BlackBerry, Android and Palm Pre.
“Yowza is experiencing a very exciting growth period right now with the ability of any merchant small or large to get their offers and coupons on Yowza through our Self Sign-Up link https://getyowza.com/signup and through the major partnerships with large retailers rolling out every week,” said Greg Grunberg, cofounder of Yowza, Hollywood, CA.
“Our strategy has been and always will be to make the best deals available to the most number of consumers who are ready to spend and want to know where they will get the best value for their money,” he said.
Yowza is a location-based mobile coupon network. The company was founded by Mr. Grunberg, an actor from such programs as “Heroes” and “Felicity,” August Trometer and Rick Yaeger. The three of them met on Twitter.
Crocs is a designer, manufacturer and retailer of footwear for men, women and children.
Crocs for cheap
Consumers can find the nearest stores that offer Crocs upon entering their location into the Yowza application.
Users can also opt-in to receive notifications whenever a specific store has new offers, check out a map to see the location of the store, go to the company’s Web site and click-to-call the store.
Crocs is currently offering 15 percent off an entire order, $10 off on an order of $50 or $25 off an order of $100.
New coupon deals available via the Yowza application include Fast Frame, Ben Bridge Jewelers, Daphne’s Greek Café, Road Runner Sports, Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store, The Counter, Original Roadhouse Grill and iFly.
Depending on the category and specific offer, between 10 and 40 percent of consumers who view a Yowza coupon have gone on to redeem it – a rate exponentially higher than paper coupons, according to the company.
“We are seeing not only a conversion of those who are already familiar with saving money the old-fashioned way such as clipping coupons, but also with the newest tech-savvy generation who are relying more and more on their smart devices to make their everyday lives easier,” Mr. Grunberg said.
“It just makes sense,” he said. “You always have your phone on you and we are always looking to save money.”
The company claims that this will not only save consumers money, but will also be beneficial to the environment.
Consumers can save paper by not printing the coupons, searching through the newspaper for deals, no flyers and more need for coupon books in the mail.
According to Yowza, there are 52.6 percent of users who are male and 47.4 percent who are female, with an average age of 35.
Consumers can search for deals by location from one to 50 miles away and retrieve a coupon and then present it to the cashier, who can scan or enter a coupon code directly from the mobile device.
“These newest partnerships represent the exact kind of retailers we are seeing to align ourselves with,” Mr. Grunberg said. “These are retailers we all turn to for great products and now we can be assured we are getting the best deals possible.
“Barry’s Tickets is a good example of a Yowza partner who will be selling tickets to some of its events at 50 percent off – you just can’t get that anywhere else,” he said.
