Cardstar rolls out mobile rewards on Windows Phone 7

Users can consolidate all of their membership and rewards cards in the application. The mobile rewards application is available for free download in Windows Phone Marketplace.

“CardStar has a universal appeal because our users are also consumers with a significant need for a simple way to manage rewards cards and information about their favorite places to shop,” said Kristine Lee, spokeswoman for Cardstar. “As such, we make it a high priority for CardStar to be accessible across all platforms.

CardStar is a privately held software company developing mobile applications that perpetuates the use of loyalty cards and mobile coupons.

The application consolidates membership and rewards cards on smartphones, letting consumers access scannable cards from within a single application and enabling merchants to tailor mobile deals and information to their customers.

Users can add rewards or membership cards for 750 merchants or custom-add additional retailers with the tap of a button.

“The Microsoft Windows 7 platform touts innovative elements to its user interface that we believe will draw a committed user base,” Ms. Lee said. “Working closely with Microsoft gave us an opportunity to develop a new version of CardStar that took full advantage of the platform.”

Revamped
Cardstar revamped its application for Windows Phone 7 to take full advantage of the platform.

The application uses the phone’s touch navigation features information screens such as store locators and browser screens with merchants’ Web sites.

Additionally, Cardstar claims users can add new cards in half the amount of time it takes on other platforms.

“We’re spreading the word by reaching out to interested members of the press and word of mouth referrals from our happy customers; not only on Windows Phone 7, but those on our other platforms – Blackberry, Android and iPhone/iPad – as well,” Ms. Lee said.
