BuyVia extends reach of mobile shopping services via Kindle Fire app

Mobile shopping app BuyVia has launched a version for the Kindle Fire, reflecting the device’s continuing popularity in the tablet market.

BuyVia enables users to access online and local deals on more than 100 million items. Kindle Fire owners will be able to easily find products at the best price both online and in-store across a variety of product categories.

“The Kindle Fire has a large portion of the current tablet market share and is only continuing to gain momentum,” said Norman Fong, CEO and co-founder of BuyVia. “The Kindle Fire is purchased by consumers who are frequent Amazon shoppers and are e-commerce savvy making this the perfect demographic for BuyVia, San Mateo, CA.

“Our Kindle Fire version is identical to our Android Tablet version as we want each our of apps to remain consistent, offering the same unique features across all operating systems,” he said. “This is unique because there are actually few shopping apps currently available on the Kindle Fire, and many only work on smartphones.”

Automatic notifications 
After launching the BuyVia app users can select the products they want, vendors they prefer and automatically receive notifications, in real-time, when deals are available both online and in store for instant redemption.

Users then see a deal screen which is constantly updating with the latest deals on desired products from vendors. Users can browse products, scan items with a bar code scanner, search for items using the search function or look for local coupons using the daily deals function, which populates deals within a 10-mile radius based on the user’s immediate location.

Additionally, the BuyVia app and Web site sync to all devices via the Cloud so consumers can be out shopping using their iPhone and Android smartphone and are able to come home, sign onto their Kindle Fire and utilize the larger screen to make their final purchase.

BuyVia offers deals on products from 16,000 vendors across a variety of categories, including technology, apparel, sports gear and home goods. BuyVia also aggregates offers from numerous daily deals sites such as Groupon and LivingSocial.

Users are alerted when selected products fall in price or that a desired product is on sale in a local bricks-and-mortar store when they are walking or driving by the store.

Full-function tablet
The Kindle Fire BuyVia app is available to download for free from the Amazon App Store. The app is also available for iOS and Android devices.

BuyVia was launched late last year. The company reports that in May, 60 percent of app users were female while 75 percent of online shoppers were male. Additionally, 37 percent of app users are between the ages of 35 and 54 while 24 percent of Web site visitors are between the ages of 25 and 34.

The shopping service also reported that 34 percent of app users access the app via an iPhone 4s, 28 percent via an iPhone 5, 21 percent via an iPhone and 7 percent from an iPad.

“Most consumers use the Kindle Fire to consume content including books, videos, games, etc., but recently consumers are interested in additional features, such as shopping,” Mr. Fong said. “With the newer 8.9 inch tablets at an aggressive and attractive price point, the Kindle Fire is an extremely good value, full-function tablet.”
