Bike retailer Full Cycle launches mobile payments to enhance sales

Full Cycle, a Boulder, CO-based retailer specializing in high-end bicycles, is tapping into the mobile channel for mobile payments and marketing initiatives to boost sales.

Full Cycle is partnering with Mocapay to power its mobile initiatives, which are designed to enhance its marketing and sales efforts and deliver a complete mobile experience to its customers. Full Cycle will work with Mocapay to complement its marketing program by mobile-enabling its existing gift card program.

“Full Cycle’s mission is to provide the best high-end bicycle purchasing and servicing experience in Colorado,” said Kevin Grieve, CEO, Mocapay, Denver. “For many of its customers, mobile is the way of life and so naturally a mobilized solution for its customers is the next step.

“Full Cycle chose Mocapay because it enables them to enhance the mobile customer experience with an alternative payment option and marketing tailored to the customers’ location,” he said. “Full Cycle currently has three locations in Colorado, two in Boulder and one in Fort Collins, and is looking to increase sales by connecting with customers inside and outside the store.

“Mocapay complements Full Cycle’s commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience that encourages its customers to ride more—Mocapay mobilizes the Full Cycle brand and helps it connect to customers on the go.”

Full Cycle claims to be one of the largest bicycle retailers in the United States and the largest dealer of Giant bicycles.

Mocapay is a mobile payments and marketing platform for issuers and merchants.

Coming Full Cycle
This is the first mobile initiative for Full Cycle.

Mocapay’s embedded marketing engine will be used to deliver targeted mobile offers to Full Cycle customers.

Mobile campaigns can be directed to all customers throughout Colorado or targeted to specific store locations.

Using the customized Mocapay Dashboard, Full Cycle can monitor the effectiveness of individual campaigns in real time.

Mocapay’s software-as-a-service technology also lets Full Cycle integrate secure mobile payments into its point-of-sale system, letting its customers conduct mobile transactions.

Mocapay powers mobile transactions through multifactor authentication to ensure that security measures implemented in plastic gift card and loyalty programs are not degraded with the introduction of the mobile form factor.

The platform’s token-based architecture provides one-time-use perishable codes at the transaction-level, increasing the level of security and preventing unwanted viral spread of offers.

Through the partnership, Full Cycle mobile account holders will be able to conduct mobile transactions at the point-of-sale, access their account balance and transaction history, and reload their Full Cycle account, all from their mobile phone.

“Full Cycle will complement its existing gift program with the Mocapay platform and will offer a opt-in mobile marketing solution to its customers at all three locations,” Mr. Grieve said.
