American Airlines bolsters mobile bookings via new initiative

January 3, 2012

American Airlines is letting consumers book their travels and change flights via a new mobile ad campaign.

The company is running the mobile ads within TV Guide’s iPhone application. The mobile ads are a great way for consumers to book last-minute trips no matter where they are.

The American Airlines franchise is made up of the American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection airlines that travel to 250 cities in 50 countries.

Flying high
The American Airlines mobile ad reads “Great Deals. Every Day. On AA.Com. Book Now.”

When consumers tap on the mobile ad they are redirected to a mobile landing page where they can log into their account, view reservations, browse flight check-in, and view their mobile boarding pass.

Additionally, consumers can check flight status notifications, view travel updates and alerts, book flights and browse fare sales and special offers.

Consumers can books their flight via the mobile ad

Users can also download the American Airlines iPhone application to their device to take advantage of the company’s on-the-go features.

Running a mobile ad such as this is a good way for American Airlines to engage its users and give them an option to book their flight instead of just through their computer.

Consumers are increasingly turning to their mobile device to buy things and the company has taken advantage of this via the new mobile ad campaign.
