Wells Fargo lets commercial card customers manage accounts via mobile

April 8, 2011

Wells Fargo is letting its WellsOne Commercial Card customers manage their accounts and check expenses and available credit via their smartphones.

Using the company’s CEO Mobile service, WellsOne cardholders can add out-of-pocket expenses and view charges via their handset. The service also lets Commercial Card administrators view and edit credit limits and review declined transactions.

“We are providing our users another channel in which to manage their expenses related to their Commercial Card program,” said Mary Mazzochi, senior vice president and manager of the Commercial Card product suite at Wells Fargo, Phoenix.

“Since many cardholders that use our program travel for business, offering mobile services is a logical extension of our Commercial Card application,” she said. “Cardholders or program administrators frequently travel on business and use their commercial cards during those trips.

“The ability to enter an expense on their mobile device or change a credit limit for a cardholder that needs immediate assistance is of immense value for these mobile card users.”

Wells Fargo provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage, and consumer and commercial finance through more than 9,000 stores, 12,000 ATMs, the Internet, and other distribution channels across North America and internationally.

All about the money
Using the WellsOne mobile management tool, administrators can control of employee spending.

The company claims that the mobile service better equips purchasing staff to negotiate with vendors and reduces the cost, time and environmental impact of managing disbursement expenses.

Wells Fargo is letting users know about the service via email, Web site tutorials and conference demonstrations.

“We will continue to add functions to our Commercial Card Mobile program, including the ability to approve card statements and reconcile card data,” Ms. Mazzochi said.

Wells Fargo offers a CEO Mobile iPhone application and a mobile site that users can access by entering on their mobile browser.

“We have several innovative and exciting products that we plan to roll out to our corporate banking customers in 2011,” said Ranjit Pradhan, CEO mobile channel manager at Wells Fargo, Phoenix.

“As with our other mobile offerings these services will be integrated into our existing CEO Mobile platform,” he said. “Users will need to be authorized to the product on the Commercial Electronic Office application in order to access that functionality using their mobile device.”
