Wantickets now the official mobile ticketing partner of Miami Music Week

Digital ticket marketplace Wantickets will now be the official mobile ticketing platform for Miami Music Week as it seeks to offer a competitive challenge to other mobile ticketing applications in the industry.

This partnership means that consumers attending Miami’s big concert festival can purchase tickets through the Wantickets app. The move is an attempt on Wantickets’ part to compete with other popular festival ticket apps.

“For years, Wantickets and MMW have worked alongside each other to promote Miami’s unbeatable nightlife, and we’re thrilled to make the partnership official,” said Joe Schnaier, CEO of Wantickets.

As customers have shifted their digital consumption habits to mobile, retailers of all sorts have had to follow.

Many transactions that were previously completed in-person, by phone or on desktop are now increasingly moving towards mobile as the destination of choice.

For ticketing, this is no different.

While Stubhub and Ticketmaster, the traditional dominating forces in the ticket world, have both adapted to the mobile revolution in strong ways, it has also brought about room for smaller ticket platforms to crop up as well.

The mobile world has allowed those ticketing platforms to gain an audience that they might never have been able to before.

One such platform is Wantickets, a smaller platform but one that boasts considerable popularity, especially in Miami.

The platform has previously serviced customers looking for music in the Miami area, and is now taking that effort a step further by becoming the official ticketing partner for Miami’s Miami Music Week, a week-long festival of concerts and performances.

This partnership gives Wantickets a huge opportunity for attracting new customers who have the potential to be loyal customers as well.

Customers can purchase their tickets through the Wantickets mobile app, or through the Miami Music Week app, which now has Wantickets ticketing platform integrated directly into it.

Additionally, Wantickets and Miami Music Week are encouraging customers to share their experience with ticketing and the festival itself on social media with sponsored hashtags.

Mobile ticketing
Mobile ticket platforms have flourished in recent years, as customers increasingly rely on mobile as their gateway to making purchases.

Ticketing platforms have a particular advantage in that tickets and passes are easily stored digitally in a mobile wallet and customers therefore have an incentive to purchase them on their phones to begin with.

Outside of music venues, companies such as Fandango and Atom Tickets have also grown in popularity as mobile options for ordering tickets.

Atom Tickets has seen such success that it has expanded its presence to some of the biggest markets in the US, including New York (see story).

Even non-ticketing platforms have begun tapping into the desire for tickets as a marketing tool, such as how Mastercard incentivized customers to start using Samsung Pay by offering free mobile concert tickets (see story).

These campaigns, as well as the announcement from Wantickets, show how mobile ticket ordering has become a priority for consumers and brands alike.

“Together we hope to build a one-stop-shop for everything MMW-related, enhancing our ticket offerings for promoters and fans alike,” Mr. Schnaier said.
