TheFind Inc., a shopping search engine and Web destination for discovering lifestyle goods, introduced TheFind: Where to Shop, an application designed to let users retrieve comprehensive local store data from anywhere, via the Apple iPhone.

TheFind: Where to Shop bridges the gap between online research and offline purchases, enabling shoppers to compare products and pricing and ensuring that they find exactly what they’re searching for, quickly and easily within their neighborhood.

“TheFind:Where to Shop is a natural extension of our local search¬† product, combined with the fact that the iPhone is the first device that has fast, Internet surfing and GPS capabilities really built into¬† its DNA,” said Larisa Hall, vice president of marketing at The Find.

“By combining the comprehensive shopping search capabilities of, with the mobility afforded by the iPhone platform, there is a tremendous potential for truly bridging the gap between the online and the offline shopping worlds,” she said

“For example, with TheFind: Where to Shop, consumers can carry online shopping research — product searches, prices, locations and sales information, — with them anywhere they go, whether they are traveling for business or pleasure.”

It has a comprehensive index of more than 250 million products covering 200,000 store locations.
TheFind’s iPhone application aims to be the best resource for savvy shoppers.

“Our application helps consumers who are at a store shopping to compare the prices of any product they like to other local retailers near them, as well as to online stores, thereby enabling the consumer to make a truly informed buying decision without the constraint of having to sit in front of your computer 24/7,” Ms. Hall said.

For every search, TheFind: Where to Shop graphically maps the locations of local brick and mortar stores that carry the desired item.

Consumers can use the map to determine which location is the closest to them, saving time, money and gas.

The application provides street addresses and phone numbers for each store location. To further refine search results, consumers can search by store type such as department stores and boutiques.
Through integration with inventory look up capabilities offered by NearbyNow and Krillion.

“The integration of TheFind with the iPhone platform through TheFind: Where to Shop, affords consumers access to comprehensive shopping search capabilities, reaching far beyond their desktop computer to anywhere they are using their iPhone,” Ms Hall said.

“This opens up great possibilities in terms of (a) identifying the location and availability of products while on the go, (b) getting on-the-spot price comparisons while at a store, and (c) learning about special sales or product promotions,” she said.
