Syniverse, BBB Mobile Giving Foundation expand global reach through new partnership

Through the partnership, Syniverse will provide its mobile acumen and global reach to determine ways to help the BBB Mobile Giving Foundation globalize its philanthropic efforts. The company also hopes to increase visibility of the role mobile plays in enhancing lives around the world.

“Syniverse has a heritage of supporting communities where we do business and where our employees live and work,” said Janet Roberts, chief marketing officer at Syniverse.

“In our role at the center of the mobile ecosystem, it makes sense to support organizations and causes that use mobile to expedite charitable giving in times of crisis and to enrich communities and lives around the world,” she said.

“The BBB Mobile Giving Foundation has helped mobile to become one of the most effective methods for charitable fundraising in the U.S. and Canada for hundreds of causes that need to quickly channel funds to those in need around the globe.”

Through the partnership with BBB Mobile Giving, Syniverse will expand its initiatives such as corporate giving programs and employee community involvement worldwide.

Additionally, the BBB Mobile Giving Foundation aims to extend its reach and globalize its impact to help nonprofits in all regions of the world cultivate and interact with an expanded base of donors.

In recent years, donations of $50 million for more than 1,000 charities have been enabled by mobile technology.

“Every day in all regions of the world, we see how mobile is enhancing people’s lives through better access to communications, information, business data and even health care,” Ms. Roberts said.

“The possibilities for mobile to serve as a catalyst for societal benefit and change are virtually unlimited,” she said.

Both the BBB Mobile Giving Foundation and Syniverse will use a cross-channel strategy to publicize this news, including traditional media relations, direct marketing and social media.

Mobile giving is slowly gaining momentum, especially in Third World countries.

Consumers are increasingly using their mobile devices to make donations to various charities such as the American Red Cross and UNICEF.

“Our relationship with Syniverse is a significant step toward our vision of extending mobile giving as a corporate social responsibility initiative among key wireless leaders and institutionalizing the medium in other countries,” said Jim Manis, founder/CEO of the BBB Mobile Giving Foundation.
