StubHub expands mobile presence to Windows Phone devices

Consumers can buy tickets to sports, music and theater events via the free app. Additionally, consumers can sell tickets to events as well.

“We want fans to be able to access us from anywhere at any time,” said Dre Madden, head of digital marketing at StubHub. “

We have an iPhone app and an Android app, and the Windows Phone 7 app helps fill in our suite of mobile applications,” she said.

“In addition, we built our mobile Web experience in HTML5 to enable the majority of fans using smartphones and tablets to access our service from anywhere using a browser.”

StubHub is a ticket marketplace, enabling fans to buy and sell tickets to tens of thousands of sports, concert, theater and other live entertainment events.

According to the company, the Windows Phone app takes advantage of the device’s advanced features and lets users browse the StubHub catalog and discover and access events.

Users can search specific events based on preference and location, as well as view and map upcoming shows or games.

The app also features detailed ticket information that informs consumers about the event before they buy a ticket. For example, it shows them where their seats would be.

Additionally, ticket sellers can edit, delete and deactivate single listings within the app.

“With our Windows Phone app, customers can access the entire catalogue of events we have on our Web site, right from their phone,” Ms. Madden said. “We also make it very easy to find events in your location, or events that are upcoming – next 10 days.

“We customized the browsing experience for the mobile customer, yet have all the great events, and ticket inventory that exists on our Web site,” she said.

Via the app, users can view upcoming live events near their location along with a map highlighting local businesses nearby the venue, including restaurants and parking facilities, and even link to business user reviews.

In addition, the app lets consumers buy tickets using their existing StubHub account, via PayPal or credit card.

“We know fans are not always at their computers,” Ms. Madden said. “Fans are on the go, and with StubHub mobile apps and mobile web, we are right there with them wherever they go.”
