Review2Buy, Wine Review Online partner — drink up!By
Review2Buy Inc. has partnered with Wine Review Online to bring mobile phone users wine reviews and recommendations as well as local and online price comparisons at the point of purchase.
Under the agreement, Wine Review will provide Review2Buy with direct access to its database, which includes ratings, pricing and reviews. Wine Review and Review2Buy will jointly market the offering to both existing Wine Review readers and to new members.
“Review2Buy is one of the first real SMS applications to hit the market and we anticipate this will be the next hot area in technology,” said Farzad Soleimani, CEO of Review2Buy, Palo Alto, CA.
Review2Buy offers product information on consumer electronics, books, CDs, DVDs and wines. It targets the 75 million SMS users in the United States.
“This is truly the first time that SMS technology will be used by consumers to pull real valuable information via text, not just push out information such as voting for the next American Idol,” Mr. Soleimani said.
After signing up for the service, users send the product name, ISBN or UPC code as a text message to REVIEW (738439). The requested information is sent to them within seconds.
Review2Buy will generate revenue based on relevant promotions and cost savings that it hopes to provide to customers as well as through partnerships.
Mr. Soleimani anticipates offering customers an option to buy via the mobile phone in the near future.
Review2Buy will enter into more partnerships in the coming months. But Mr. Soleimani wouldn’t disclose names even as he is convinced of the market need his company fills.
“We are trying to dissolve the barrier between offline and online shopping” [with mobile], he said.
