Zpizza taps Mocapay for mobile commerce, gifting and loyalty

National gourmet pizza, sandwich and salad chain zpizza has mobilized its gift and customer loyalty program to support its marketing and sales initiatives.

Using Mocapay’s mobile software-as-a-service technology, zpizza can provide its customers with a secure mobile commerce platform. The company can also distribute customized promotional text messages and mobile coupons to customers on a national or regional scale, or targeted to specific store locations.

“The mobile channel provides significant marketing capabilities to an otherwise potentially unreachable consumer,” said Kevin Grieve, CEO of Mocapay, Denver. “Mocapay’s platform provides customers such as zpizza the ability to connect with customers outside of the store through targeted mobile marketing campaigns that reach customers before, during and after a purchase, not just at the point-of-sale.”

Based in Laguna Beach, CA, zpizza is currently in 16 states, Mexico and the Middle East, with 94 total units and growing.

Mocapay offers an integrated marketing and sales platform to help merchants broaden their gift and loyalty programs by mobilizing sales and marketing to encourage purchases and build a stronger brand affinity.

As zpizza grows, the company has continued to search for ways to differentiate the brand and engage with its customer base.

By working with Mocapay, zpizza now has a new, targeted channel to reach its customers while supporting its marketing and sales efforts and ultimately building customer loyalty.

Mocapay will initially launch the mobile commerce and loyalty platform within zpizza’s Colorado and Southern California-based locations.

Through the relationship, zpizza mobile account holders will be able to conduct mobile transactions at the point-of-sale, access their account balance and transaction history, find the nearest zpizza location accepting mobile gift and loyalty, and reload their zpizza account, all from their mobile phone.

Customers can also conduct mobile gifting, which allows real-time gift-giving directly to another mobile phone. Mobile gifting helps zpizza increase its revenue and customer base.

A recent study  found that 31 percent of people said loyalty account access via handsets would be an improvement(see story).

“Mobile is a great way to innovate and reinvigorate gift and loyalty programs,” Mr. Grieve said. “Mobilizing these programs enables retailers to reach customers at multiple times—not just at the point-of-sale.

“With Mocapay, merchants such as zpizza can build targeted mobile marketing campaigns that can drill down to specific store locations and regions so they target specific customers with specific messages,” he said. “For consumers, opting into a mobile program is a great way to receive exclusive offers from their favorite merchants.

“In turn, merchants are able to further their branding and customer loyalty.”
