Progressive offers insurance quotes through mobile-optimized siteBy
Consumers can view the mobile site by entering m.progressive.com on their handset browser. The mobile site lets users pay a bill and find a service center.
“With consumers adopting mobile at a rapid pace, we want to give them as many options as possible when quoting and buying insurance,” said Matt Lehman, mobile business leader at Progressive.
“We think it’s important to roll out this additional option to give owners of those vehicles another choice when shopping for insurance,” he said.
Progressive Insurance is a provider of boat and recreational vehicle insurance.
The company rolled out the mobile-optimized site to let owners of motorcycles, boats, RVs and powersports vehicles shop for insurance while on the go.
Through the mobile site, consumers can get a quote and buy online.

Users can enter their ZIP code and choose which vehicle they would like to insure.
In addition to getting a quote, consumers can content a local agent, browse insurance choices, visit the claims center and view tips, tools and other how-to’s.
The mobile site is a smart move on Progressive’s part because it lets the company reach as many consumers as possible.
Additionally, making sure content is optimized for mobile devices is critical because if users access a site where they have to pinch and zoom, the experience is ruined.
All about Progressive
Progressive has been doing a lot in the mobile space lately.
In 2010, Progressive launched an iPhone application to make insurance easier and more convenient for a broad range of mobile consumers. The application is branded with the company’s perky commercial spokeswoman, Flo (see story).
Last year, the company expanded its mobile offerings to meet current customers’ growing demand for information on the go and to engage and attract prospects (see story).
“Progressive added this to our existing mobile site to help reach the broadest audience, and let owners of these vehicles quote on-the-go,” Mr. Lehman said.
