Omnego lets consumers store all travel information within one appBy
The company has rolled out the GoTravelWallet app that lets users store all their travel information in one place. The app is available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices.
“The GoTravelWallet was conceived as a means to help business and pleasure travelers by providing one place to go to access travel documents, tools, cards and mobile Web sites,” said David Thomas, CEO of Omnego.
“We have a growing aggregation of travel-related mobile Web content, as well as the mobile wallet features for creating and storing mobile cards and documents,” he said. “Industry research tells us that travelers are adopting mobile to perform a number of travel transactions.
“It’s a logical next step to provide a wallet that lets someone on the go travel lighter and smarter.”
Omnego Inc. has offices in the U.S. and Canada and is the creator of a patent-pending white label mobile platform.
The app carries mobile versions of airline, hotel and car rental membership, as well as rewards and credit cards.
The app also stores digital photos of passport, insurance and other travel forms created with the in-app camera.
Consumers can check airline flight statuses and schedules and book flights from more than 30 airlines.
“Soon we will release EventTicketWallet – sports and entertainment ticket, which will be the one place to go for all your ticket needs,” Mr. Thomas said.
“As a start-up, we are being strategic in how we promote our brands,” he said. “We rely on word-of-mouth.”
The app also lets consumers make car rental reservations from and research destinations with access to travel guides such as Fodor’s, Lonely Planet, Orbitz and TripAdvisor.
Additionally, travelers can find nearby deals, banks, shopping, restaurants, groceries and pharmacies via the app.
“We go to great lengths to ensure we are current with each new version release and that the user experience is similar across each platform,” Mr. Thomas said. “We are planning on delivering our mobile wallet apps on the Microsoft Windows mobile platform by the end of the year.”
