Inviting nominations: Mobile Commerce Awards 2012By Staff reports
Mobile Commerce Daily is inviting nominations for the Mobile Commerce Awards, the most prestigious recognition honoring outstanding mobile commerce and retail work by retailers, financial services institutions and transaction-focused marketers.
Comprising 10 categories, the Mobile Commerce Awards acknowledge consumer- or business-focused strategic, tactical and creative thinking and execution by retailers, banks and transaction-oriented marketers using mobile in the multichannel mix. The winners will be announced later this month.
“The brightest star in the retail sky this year was mobile commerce,” said Mickey Alam Khan, editor in chief of Mobile Commerce Daily and Mobile Marketer, New York.
“Without doubt, retailers and financial services firms know that mobile is at the intersection of their future and the consumer’s interests,” he said. “Smart players understand that absence in mobile commerce is money left on the table. These awards honor their foresight and success.”
This year’s Mobile Retailer of the Year winner will follow in the footsteps of those who took a risk and won. Sears was last year’s Mobile Retailer of the Year.
The categories for the 2012 Mobile Commerce Awards are:
Mobile Retailer of the Year
Mobile Bank of the Year
Mobile Merchandizer of the Year
Mobile Commerce Researcher of the Year
Mobile CRM Program of the Year
Mobile Commerce Program of the Year
Mobile Commerce Web Site of the Year
Mobile Commerce Application of the Year
Mobile Commerce Technology of the Year
Mobile Commerce Evangelist of the Year
Previous years’ winners are eligible for the awards.
Criteria for the Mobile Commerce Awards
Nominations for the Mobile Commerce Awards require the following: a 500-word write-up in a Word document making the case for why the retailer or bank’s mobile commerce work for 2012 made it a candidate for the chosen award category.
The nomination document should include the retailer or bank’s strategic mobile commerce thinking for the year, tactics and campaigns deployed, execution and, if possible, the sharing of any results. The use of mobile in a multichannel context is a plus.
Please include the mobile chief’s name and email and phone details for the executive or his or her PR person. The document should also have two quotes from the retailer or bank’s mobile chief, one on what drove mobile commerce strategy in 2012 and, two, what challenge was the retailer or bank’s mobile efforts meant to address in 2012.
Five high res color jpegs (200dpi and up) showcasing the retailer or bank’s best mobile work for the year should be attached along with the Word document.
Who to send and by when
All emails with the 500-word nominating document and five high res color jpegs of creative executions should be sent to Mobile Commerce Daily editor in chief Mickey Alam Khan at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please mention “Mobile Commerce Awards” in the email subject header.
The Mobile Commerce Daily editorial team will judge the submissions along with its own nominations from mobile commerce efforts covered in the publication this year.
All nominations should be in by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 21.
