GNC delivers offers, mobile coupons to on-the-go consumers

The site is launching in beta today in New York City. Consumers who sign up for the service receive notifications whenever a place or site they like is offering a deal, coupon or special they might be interested in.

“The goal with textcher is to connect people with deals and coupons from places they are interested in,” said Paul Jones, cofounder/CEO of textcher. “People spend a lot of time searching for these deals, coupons and often have to print out.

“Really what we want to do is create a very seamless way for people to create a list of place they are interested in receiving offers from,” he said.

Textcher is a savings network that brings together offers from deals from other sites, foursquare specials and direct offers from merchants.

Deal of the day
The site is launching in beta today in New York City.

More than 400 deals sites are integrated with the site.

Users can also discover saving opportunities from local businesses at textcher.com and a mobile-optimized site.

Coupons can be delivered instantly to users’ mobile devices and be redeemed at the point-of-sale.

Additionally, textcher also offers an affiliate program that provides up to $300 in rewards for each business that a user refers.

Companies can create, manage and track a digital coupon campaign using textcher.

Textcher offers analytics and tracking capabilities such as real-time coupon redemption information as well as demographic information about users.

Businesses can create a new digital coupon from scratch or extend the reach of an existing campaign.

They can also remarket new campaigns to users who have picked up their coupons in the past.

“One of the first attributes that is unique is when you initially sign up for our site, you’ll either take a quiz or link your foursquare account and that will automatically let you opt-in to receive deals from businesses,” Mr. Jones said.

“Anytime there is a coupon at these places, you’ll get that notification,” he said.

Merchants galore
In addition to the GNC store, textcher has a number of restaurants also participating.

With the GNC promotion, the store is offering a 40 percent discount off any one item.

Consumers can get the voucher sent directly to their mobile device and show their handset at the participating GNC location.

“GNC will be able to notify their followers on Twitter or Facebook that they will be running this campaign,” Mr. Jones said.

The company is also looking to roll out to other cities.

“The hope is that every month we will add a new city,” Mr. Jones said.
