Famous Footwear app integrates rewards, social for robust mobile shopping

Famous Footwear’s new mobile application strives to make it easy for customers to shop, share, save and earn rewards while on the go.

The robust app enables users to receive mobile offers, be the first to see the latest trends and shop Famous.com from anywhere. Additional functionality is available to members of the retailer’s rewards program, including mobile-only exclusive discounts and the ability to redeem points at anytime.

“The Famous Footwear app delivers on our brand’s promise to make shoe shopping easy and convenient,” said Will Smith, chief marketing officer at Brown Shoe Retail, St. Louis, MO.

“The new app provides shoppers instant access to savings they can earn through the Famous Footwear Rewards program, and even more exclusive mobile offers,” he said.

“The app provides the most benefit for our Rewards members who will gain exclusive discounts, more opportunities for bonus points and the ability to easily plan and track purchases.”

Famous Footwear is a chain of 1,000 footwear stores and a division of the Brown Shoe Co.

Digital wallet
The first time users launch the app, they are taken through a tour highlighting the key features of the app. During future visits, users can sign in with their online account or rewards number or create an account.

Key features of the app include the My Profile section, where after registering their rewards account, users can use the app to track past Web and in-store purchases.

The My Victories digital wallet enables rewards members to redeem rewards points as soon as they earn them.

“We’ve designed the app to make shopping, sharing and saving, as well as earning and redeeming rewards, as immediate as today’s mobile shoppers expect,” Mr. Smith said. “With the app, Famous Footwear customers are just a tap away from accessing account profile details, reviewing or redeeming rewards and finding nearby stores.”

Shopping inspiration
The app’s home screen features exclusive offers for mobile users and rewards members. This will include coupons, bonus point events and more.

New and existing rewards members earn 15 bonus points for signing up on the app.

The app also offers shopping inspiration. Users can click a heart icon to “like” their favorite styles so they can save and access them later.

There are also look books where users can shop the season’s latest styles, redeem rewards points, access the retailer’s style blog, Footnotes, as well as share styles via social media and email.

The #MyVictory section features user-generated content. Mobile users can upload and share photos of their own favorite Famous Footwear styles.

Users can also see what trends and updates are most popular via social media using the hash tags #myvictory and #famousfootwear.

“Mobile is increasingly becoming a necessary part of the shopping experience for our customer,” Mr. Smith said. “They are on the go and demand convenience and access to the latest shopping trends as well as savings.

“Famous Footwear’s app gives mobile shoppers easy, convenient access to the shoe styles and brands that fit their lifestyles,” he said.
