Cirque Du Soleil bolsters ticket sales for Zumanity via mobile

The company is running the mobile ads within Pandora’s iPhone app. The ads promote the show and encourage users to buy tickets for it.

The Cirque Du Soleil ad reads: “The Sensual Side of Cirque Du Soleil. Call Now.”

The campaign features click-to-call functionality that lets consumers book tickets straight from their mobile device.

When consumers click on the mobile ad, it automatically dials the box office number so that users can book their tickets for the show.

An ad campaign such as this is an effective way to drive sales for Cirque Du Soleil’s shows.

Automatically connecting a consumer to the show’s box office is a smart move for the company and provides an easy way for users to book their tickets.

However, if the ad took consumers to a mobile optimized page where they could learn more about the show, that would have been smart as well.

Past efforts
This is not Cirque Du Soleil’s first foray into mobile.

Last year, the company let consumers book tickets to its MGM Grand live show via targeted mobile banner ads.

The company also ran the mobile  banner ads within Pandora’s iPhone app and the campaign featured click-to-call features that let consumers book tickets straight from their device (see story).
