Broadwaybox.com drives ticket sales via mobile promotions

Theater discount Web site Broadwaybox.com is driving show sales by letting consumers buy discounted tickets at box offices when they show the offer on their mobile device.

Consumers can flash their mobile discounts with a promotional code at box offices via the company’s applications, Web site or email. The app is available in Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android Market.

Broadwaybox.com is a community site for  ticket discounts, including Broadway and off-Broadway productions in New York, London, Las Vegas and Orlando.

On-the-go promotions
The BroadwayBox.com app lets users search by city, event name and venue and lets them narrow down their searches when they are looking for something specific.

Tickets can be found up to six months in advance on the app, which is ideal for out-of-town consumers who want to see a specific show at a certain date.

Additonally, consumers can read reviews by BroadwayBox.com’s users and register for email discount updates so that they can stay up-to-date on the latest news.

Mobile ticketing
Broadwaybox.com is not the only ticketing Web site tapping into mobile consumers.

Most recently, StubHub rolled out a Windows Phone app and also has apps iPhone and Android apps.

Additionally, the online ticket exchange Web site TicketNetwork launched a mobile-optimized site earlier this year.

Mobile ticketing is quickly becoming a go-to for on-the-go consumers. More customers are buying via mobile.
