Billing Revolution to mobile commerce-enable RDS merchants

Retail Data Systems partnered with Billing Revolution to mobile commerce-enable its more than 13,000 merchant customers.

The service delivers management and rendering tools that make mobile credit card transactions simple and cost effective, including the generation of customer purchase receipts, remote ordering and payments, as well as tracking and reporting. Billing Revolution’s system is PCI compliant and works across all Web-enabled handsets and carriers, accepting payments in more than 150 currencies worldwide.

“Many retailers have expressed interest in enabling remote transactions from mobile phones,” said Andy Kleitsch, founder/CEO of Billing Revolution, Seattle. “The partnership with Billing Revolution enables RDS to bring a proven commerce platform to merchants wishing to pursue remote commerce.”

Recent Billing Revolution partnerships inlcude PayPal, to provide mobile credit card checkout access to 45,000 PayPal merchants,, and brands such as The Weather Channel, Dada, Yahoo, ESPN and PlayPhone.

For many merchants the biggest hurdle facing mobile credit card adoption is the slow and oftentimes difficult end-user experience.

Billing Revolution claims its system makes transactions on mobile as simple and hassle free as possible, leading to more frequent impulse purchases and high recurring rates. Here is how Billing Revolution works:
